Year after year this En Rama range is for all of those than consider Tio Pepe as a light, flat kind of Fino.
Pale olive colour for a fresh, pungent nose with a sharp, saline mouthfeel.
For less than 12 euro here, a steel. Run!
Matched an assorted maki.

Año tras año este En Rama es para todos aquellos que consideran a Tío Pepe como un fino ligero, plano.
Color oliva pálido para una nariz fresca y pungente con una sensación en boca afilada y salina.
Por menos de 12 euros, un chollo. ¡Corre!
Acompañó un maki variado.

Best Emilio Rojo ever! Happy cause I've a few bottles in my cellar.
Minerality at its best. A thousand of wild flowers on your nose.
Palate is delicate yet dense, sappy and with a bitter finish that announces a long persistence. Marvellous.
At Restaurant Sanxenxo, Ortega y Gasset 40, in Madrid with my partridge Beatriz.


¡El mejor Emilio Rojo de siempre! Feliz porque tengo una pocas botellas en mi bodega.
Mineralidad en lo mejor. En tu nariz mil flores silvestres.
En boca es delicada aún densa, sabrosa y con un final amargo que anuncia una larga persistencia. Maravilloso.
En el restaurante Sangenjo, Ortega y Gasset 40, en Madrid con mi perdiz Beatriz.

2005 Bodegas Baigorri Rioja Crianza (Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alavesa, Rioja) 18/06/2013

Surprisingly the last bottle had a lot of vigour and power.
Still a light purple colour turning to ruby. Not a sign of evolution. Amazing.
Aromatic on the nose of plums and liquorice. Quite simple this time.
Palate is alcoholic, bitter (sediments) and long.
Disliked. Wasn't the old Baigorri Crianza I expected.


Sorprendentemente la última botella tenía un montón de vigor y poder.
Todavía un color púrpura ligero volviéndose rubí. Sin signos de evolución. Asombroso.
Aromática en nariz con ciruelas y regaliz. Demasiado simple esta vez.
En boca es alcohólica, amarga (sedimentos) y larga.
No me gustó. No era el viejo Baigorri Crianza que esperaba.

Vivid ruby colour
Intoxicating nose of liquorice and ripe black fruit.
Very gentle in the palate, unusual for a Toro wine despite some sediments.
Five years on and for what it is, a very good bottle. 4/6


Vivo color rubí.
Nariz intoxicante a regaliz de palo y fruta negra madura.
En boca muy amable, algo anormal para un vino de Toro a pesar de algunos sedimentos.
De cinco años y para lo que es, una botella muy buena. 4/6

Almost black colour.
Closed at first but aromatic after a while.
Rich, opulent and hedonistic on the palate.
Always a pleasure to drink this wine.


En Locum de Toledo con Beatriz. Rico almuerzo.
Cerrada al principio pero aromática después de un rato.
En boca se muestra abundante, opulenta y hedonística.
Siempre un placer beber este vino.

• 2009 Niepoort Douro Batuta - Portugal, Douro
  Deep violet colour. Till young to the bone.
  A fragrant nose hidden by the oak.
  Marmalade, overripe, too much buttery French oak.
  Watery texture, black olives on the palate. High acidity. Alcoholic
  
  Color violeta profundo. Todavía demasiado joven.
  Una nariz fragante matizada por la madera.
  Mermelada, sobremaduro, demasiada mantequilla del roble francés.
  Textura acuosa, aceitunas negras en boca. Alta acidez. Alcohólica.

• 2009 Niepoort Douro Charme - Portugal, Douro
  Less deep than Batuta.
  Mineral, lovely with an Atlantic touch. Softer than Batuta.
  Charmer but without a real personality. Perhaps that bitter finish.
  
  Menos profundo que el Batuta.
  Mineral con ese rico toque Atlántico. Más suave que su hermano.
  Con más encanto sin una personalidad de verdad. Quizás ese final amargo.

• 2010 Quinta do Crasto Touriga Nacional Douro - Portugal, Douro
  Closed very reduced at first
  With time flowers, violets and crustaceans peel, cherry coke even.
  Low perfil for a TN. What a pity I need more and miss my wines from Dao
  
  Cerrado, muy reducido al principio.
  Con tiempo flores, violetas y cáscaras de crustáceos, incluso cola de cerezas.
  Perfil bajo para una TN. Qué lástima necesito más y añoro mis vinos de Dão.

 

• 2009 Quinta do Vale Meão Douro - Portugal, Douro
  Dark as hell.
  So good, so international, so low character nor personality.
  This can be an Aussie, blending Shiraz and Merlot.
  Same bad thing on the palate. Never my sort of wine. Sorry
  
  Oscuro como el infierno.
  Tan bueno, tan internacional, tan poco carácter y personalidad.
  Esto podría ser un australiano, mezclando Shiraz y Merlot.
  Lo mismo malo en boca. Nunca mi clase de vino. Lo siento.

• 2007 Wine & Soul Douro Pintas Character - Portugal, Douro
  Horrible. Humid. Closed at first.
  With time Chinese ink and mineral hints.
  Good backbone for a second wine, acid and softie but at the same time harsh and alcoholic. Little unbalanced at this point.
  
  Horrible. Húmedo. Cerrado al principio.
  Con tiempo tinta China y toques minerales.
  Buen espinazo para un segundo vino, ácido y suavecito pero al mismo tiempo áspero y alcohólico. Un poco desequilibrado en este momento.

• 2004 Roquette e Cazes Douro Xisto - Portugal, Douro
  Easy WOTN at first but faded quickly
  Sweet nose, harmonious.
  Tamed tannins on the palate. Nothing special and little hopes for my Pintas 04.
  
  El fácil ganador de la noche pero decayó rápidamente.
  Nariz dulce, armónica.
  En boca taninos domados. Nada especial y pocas esperanzas para mis Pintas 04.

I found difficultto pair with food these wines.
Btw, many last minute changes, too many times....a little shame for Enoteca Barolo
