3/17 Only three years sleeping in my cellar. Are you one of those Spanish wine lovers? If so, please take apart those stupid opinions of some uncultured, without any taste wine critics ("Spanish consumers have always confused oak with quality") If we put for so long our wine in oak is for longevity. So if you do not want to be an "oak expert" speaking about French, American or even Slovenian wood among many topics, please just enjoy these sort of wine. In excellent vintages like this and ten years on a Reserva range is all you were waiting for: Fragant 9 € bottle full of ripe red berries and leather and plums and that silkworms box smell... what else do you need? Pure cream mouthfeel. At this point, this cheap wine is an outstanding example.

3/17. Sólo tres años durmiendo en mi bodega. ¿Eres uno de esos amantes del vino español? Si es así, por favor desmonta esas estúpidas opiniones de críticos sin cultura y sin gusto ("Los consumidores españoles siempre han confundido roble y calidad"). Si ponemos el vino en roble es buscando la longevidad. Así que si no quieres ser un experto en madera hablando de roble francés, americano o incluso esloveno entre otros tópicos, por favor simplemente disfruta de estos vinos. En añadas excelentes como esta y con diez años encima, un Reserva es todo lo que esperabas: Una botella fragante de 9 € llena de bayas rojas maduras y cuero y ciruelas y ese olor a caja de gusanos de seda... ¿Qué más necesitas? Sensación en boca de pura crema. En este punto, este vino barato es un ejemplo fuera de los común.

Waterloo revival

Waterloo revival: a potent and pungent Napoleon is not rival to that darker, turbid and self-confident Wellignton PC. A vegetables and ample nose versus wet towel smells. Fot a keen on PC like me, Wellington is clearly a superior sherry but the Emperor still rules my nose. Even knowing the result, love this battle.

Reposición de Waterloo: un potente y punzante Napoleón no es rival para ese turbio, más obscuro y seguro de si mismo PC Wellington. Una amplia nariz a vegetales versusolores a paño mojado. Por un fanático del PC como yo, Wellington es claramente un jerez superior pero el Emperador todavía reina en mi nariz. Incluso sabiendo el resultado, adoro esta batalla.

2005 Domaine Laroche Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaudevey 01/07/2011

Two years laying down in my cellar. Clean and bright lime-yellow colour. Less lemony and more apricots and pears on the nose. Some shell mouthfeel too. Gliceric, rich palate. Bitter aftertaste. How I agree: Cheers to Laroche for using screw caps on America and quality corks here in Europe. Plastic for plastic culture? Heyyy mates smile please, just joking! Pairing a dozen of wild raw oysters. At 17€ per bottle, highly recommended.

Dos años descansando en mi bodega. Color lima-amarillo limpio y brillante. Menos alimonado y más albaricoques y peras en nariz. Alguna sensación a conchas en boca. Paladar rico, glicérico. Postgusto amargo. Como coincido: Felicidades a Laroche por esos cierres de plástico para América y corchos de calidad para Europa. ¿Plástico para la cultura de plástico? Heyyy colegas, sonreid por favor, estoy de cachondeo! Maridando una docena de ostras salvajes crudas. A 17€ la botella, altamente recomendado.

N.V. Valdespino Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Fino "Inocente" Marchanudo 30/06/2011

May I tell you that this is a "light Fino"? Could I describe this as a Fino for beginners? Seriously speaking I woul like to say this Fino isn´t quite simple but effective indeed at the same time: idone and sea water but at the softie side. Not bad at all that bitter aftertaste but too much watery mouthfeel. Is this your first (or second) fortified wine? Welcome! To score this Valdespino with a excellent, outstanding or even an extraordinary Sherry is to go too far. Please do not fell weighed down for all those medals on the label.

¿Puedo decirte que este es un Fino ligero? ¿Podría describir este Fino como para principiantes? Hablando en serio, me gustaría decir que este Fino no es bastante simple pero efectico al mismo tiempo sin duda: yodo y agua de mar pero en el lado suavecito. No mal del todo ese postgusto amargo pero una sensación en boca demasiado acuosa.¿Es este tu primer (o segundo) vino generoso? ¡Bienvenido! Calificar este Valdespino con un excellente, fuera de la común o como un Jerez extraordinario es ir demasiado lejos. No te dejes abrumar por esas medallas de la etiqueta.

2/17 Lovely reserva. Super value if you compared with Reserva Especial. All spices box on the aristocratic nose. Perfectly balanced mouthfeel between acidity and bitterness. A touch of finesse. At this point, delicious and really recommended.

2/17 Rico Reserva. Super valor si lo comparas con el Reserva Especial. Caja de especias en una nariz aristocrática. Perfectamente equilibrado en boca entre acidez y amargor. Un toque de fineza. En este punto, delicioso y altamente recomendado.
