After several years sleeping in my cellar, starting to uncorck/pop-up my very good ordinary Rioja Reserva. Have 20 bottles around for this year. Have been ten years on good enough for these particular producers? And for this vintage? Is going to have a long long run ahead? Here we go.

This was a great bottle. As simple as that. A classic Rioja ready for a steady consumption. A mix of brown and orange colours. On the nose, lively aromas of strawberries, leather, earth, cherries and meat. Very Burgundian! Only because that watery mouthfeel this is not an extraordinary Reserva. Fabulous with chops of sucking lamb but it would be the greatest thing with a real Havana cigar. Hmmmmm. Be patient with these outstanding vintages.
