What a NW PN! Clear cherry colour.
Earthy, smokie, chimney nose. Impressive.
Little hottie in the palate yet pleasant and elegant. Long, quite long.
At this point, personally recommended.


¡Menuda PN del Nuevo Mundo! Color Cereza claro.
Nariz terrosa, ahumada, a chimenea. Impresionante.
Un poco calentita en boca aunque agradable y elegante. Larga, muy larga.
En este momento, la recomiendo personalmente.

1999 Clarendon Hills Grenache Old Vines Romas (Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, Clarendon) 23/02/2013

Deep garnet, almost brownish colour. Aeration is required.
A perfume for my nose. Can be sniffing for hours finding new aromas. Among many others: sandalwood, stew meat, blackberries, game, artichokes . In many aspects, a very Rioja-like, a very Graciano bottle with that oxidised style.
Elegant, delicate even. Lovely acidity. Never alcoholic. Some sediments. Can't deny this is a wine of class and distinction.

Color granate profundo, casi marrón. Es requerida una aireación.
Un perfume para mi nariz. Puedo estar esnifándolo durante horas encontrando nuevos aromas. Entre muchos otros: sándalo, estofado, frutillos negros, caza, alcachofas. En muchos aspectos, muy Rioja, una botella muy Graciano con un estilo oxidado.
Elegante, incluso delicada. Rica acidez. Nunca alcohólica. Algunos sedimentos. No puedes negar que tiene clase y distinción.

• 2010 Pierre Bourée Fils Bourgogne - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
  Green despite they don't like green harvest. Woody at best. General Caster, one step behind! Medicinal, horrendous. My place is far from here. Alcoholic, harsh, to forget. Don't waste your pennies.
  
  Verde a pesar de que no les gusta la poda en verde. Amaderado en lo mejor. Un paso atrás General Caster. Medicinal, horrendo. Estoy lejos de aquí. Alcohólico, áspero, para olvidar. ¿Valor? No malgastes tu dinero.

• 2010 Pierre Bourée Fils Gevrey-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
  Artificial nose? Some violets, floral but artificial like an spray. Smells like that old open can that is living in your fridge for a long time.
  It's not going to be a long distance runner, I think.
  Mouthfeel is flat. Definitively it's not my style.
  
  ¿Nariz artificial? Algo de violetas, floral pero artificial como un spray. Huele como esa vieja lata abierta que vive en tu nevera desde hace tiempo. No va a ser un corredor de larga distancia, creo.
  La sensación en boca es plana. Definitivamente no es mi estilo.

• 2008 Pierre Bourée Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Clos de la Justice - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
  Potatoes smash on my nose. What the hell? With an hour pure reduction, sulphuric, do you like these thing?
  Better in the mouth but nothing great in any case.
  
  Puré de patatas en mi nariz. ¡Qué demonios! Con una hora pura reducción, sulfúrico, ¿te gusta esta cosa?
  Mejor en boca pero nada grandioso en cualquier caso.

• 2000 Pierre Bourée Fils Beaune 1er Cru Les Epenottes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
  At last, some mineral elegance for a coal nose.
  Dislike that alcoholic mouthfeel.
  Would prefer something more complex but consider a nice effort for such a kind of lesser Primer Cru
  
  Al fin, alguna elegancia mineral para una nariz de carbón.
  No me gusta esa alcohólica sensación en boca.
  Preferiría algo más complejo pero considero que es un buen esfuerzo para un Primer Cru menor.

• 1994 Pierre Bourée Fils Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
  Dead rat at first. Evolved to a horrible nose. Perhaps can indulge a bit founding some coke and some green notes.
  A reflect of that minor Champeaux.
  
  Rata muerta al principio. Evolucionó hacia una nariz horrible. Quizás pueda ser un poco indulgente encontrando cola y algunas notas verdes
  Un reflejo de ese menor Champeaux.

• 1998 Pierre Bourée Fils Charmes-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
  Still a woody bottle.
  Obviously WOTN cause its origin.
  Simple, soft style, impersonal and a four squared Charmes to my taste.
  Liked the most that high acidity but it is an empty acidity, without soul.
  
  Todavía una botella amaderada.
  Obviamente el vino de la noche por su origen.
  Simple, estilo suave, impersonal y para mi gusto un Charmes cuadriculado.
  Me gustó esa alta acidez pero es una acidez vacía, sin alma.

As winemaker? Well as negociant I have consistent doubts cause very often their style isn't mine. Many others either. As simple as that.

2011 Otazu Navarra Rosado (Spain, Navarra) 16/02/2013

I was seeking for serious Rosé in order to match a homemade Singaporean style fetuchini.
This looked good: from Navarra, Merlot based (without Greneche), 14% alcohol....it had all those premises you want but they weren't enough.
Vivid pink colour. Lovely echoes of chocolate, flowers and mineral hints this grape on the nose. Some density in the mouth. Nice bitter finish.
Intense but wasn't its place. That all.


Buscaba un Rosado en condiciones para maridar unos fetuchini al estilo de Singapur.
Prometía bastante: Navarra, hecha con Merlot (sin Garnacha), 14 grados...tenía todas las premisas pero no fueron suficientes.
De vivo color rosa. Con ricos ecos de la Merlot: chocolate, flores y toques minerales en nariz. En boca alguna densidad. Bello final amargo
Intenso pero no era su lugar. Eso es todo.

2008 Casa Silva Carménère Gran Reserva Los Lingues (Chile, Rapel Valley, Colchagua Valley) 13/02/2013

It´s not only because I love this winery, it is cause this bottle is a magnificent and serious example of how a Carmenere can be made.
Dark core for an aromatic stuff of smoke, strawberries and raw meat.
Tamed tannins on the palate, intense yet sweet at the same time.
Some cherry coke effect. Peppery too. At this point, delicious.


No es sólo por que adoro esta bodega,es porque esta botella es un ejemplo serio y magnífico de cómo una Carmenere puede ser hecha.
Corazón oscuro para un líquido aromáticocon humo, fresas y carne cruda.
En boca taninos domados, intensa aunque suave al mismo tiempo.
Algo del efecto de una cola de cereza. También a pimienta. En este momento, deliciosa.

Even turbid (surely a bad storage), with an unusual coffee bean aroma, this Oloroso has a superior class that transcends what a simple Sherry is.... Supreme!


Incluso turbio (seguramente una mala conservación), con un inusual aroma a pepita de café, este Oloroso tiene una clase superior que transciende a lo que es un simple Jerez... Supremo!

2011 Santiago Ruiz Albariño Rías Baixas (Spain, Galicia, Rías Baixas) 09/02/2013

Usually cloudy, Galicia region treasures that rare, unusual sun inside bottles like this.
The result is a brilliant greenish colour wine. A beauty in your glass. Nothing more...
At this point this bottle is pretty obvious, that Albariño you know.
Refreshing yet shortie at its best .

Normalmente nubosa, la región de Galicia atesora ese sol esquivo dentro de botellas como esta.
El resultado es un brillante vino de color verdusco. Una belleza en copa. Poco más...
En este momento está botella es demasiado obvia, ya sabes ese Albariño.
En lo mejor refrescante pero cortita.
Sólo buena esta vez.

What a Merlot nose! Terrific! Cru Classe class.
Unfortunately palate's performance is alcoholic, monolithic and harsh. Needs to soft or maybe it's as much horrible as it appears on the palate.

Desafortunadamente el comportamiento en boca es alcohólico, monolítico y áspero. Necesita tranquilizarse o quizás es tan horrible como parece en boca.

Sorry mates but, what's wrong with this?
Lovely profound colour for a full CS aromas on the nose and a pleasant palate.
Nothing complex that's right but consider this as a balanced bottle, ready to pair winter food.
Then, elegant even.

Lo siento colegas pero ¿qué está mal en esta botella?
Bello color profundo para una nariz llena de aromas a CS y una placentera boca.
Nada compleja, es verdad, pero considérala como a una botella equilibrada, lista para acompañar una comida invernal.
Entonces, incluso elegante.
