• 2009 Domaine Joseph Voillot Volnay Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay
  Young cherry colour. Hyperfloral, meaty,nobile woods (little woody), graphite, an incredible effort fo a V.V. Elegant and seductive bottle wonderfully open becoming from 09. I am happy cause have another example in my cellar. Mouthfeel is ample, solid but a little alcoholic.
  
  Color cereza joven. Super floral, cárnica, maderas nobles (un poco amaderado), grafito, un esfuerzo increible para un V.V. Botella elegante y seductiva maravillosamente abierta para ser del 09. Soy feliz porque tengo otro ejempolo en mi bodega. La sensación en boca es amplia, sólida pero un poco alcohólico.

Lafarge 1er Cru Les Mitans 08

  Typical cherry colour. Needing lot of time. Lovely nose: Hare, game, coal. Closed maybe too young with that green touch I hate in a Volnay. Pure red berries on the palate. May I insist? Young. Pure woody bottle at first developing a sweetie, long aftertaste, good persistance.
  
  Color cereza típico. Necesitando tiempo. Rica nariz: liebre, caza, carbón. Cerrado quizás demasiado joven con ese toque verde que odio en un Volnay. Puros frutillos rojos en boca. ¿Puedo insistir? Joven. Botella totalmente amaderada al principio desarrollando un postgusto dulcecito, largo, de buena persistencia.

Le Moine 1er Cru Caillerets 06

  Dark cherry colour. Superb nose: coffee, game, cherry coke, minty even. Concentrated, reducted anyway. Pure silk on the palate. Almost perfect for what it is. Masculine style for a Volnay. Wanna a deffect? At this point, too much new oak here.
  
  Color cereza oscuro. Nariz muy rica: Café, caza, cola de cereza, con menta incluso. Concentrado, reducido de ninguna manera. Pura seda en boca. Casi perfecto para lo que es. Estilo masculino para un Volnay. ¿Quieres un defecto? En este momento, demasiado roble nuevo.

  Cherry colour with watery-brownish rims. Timid nose, dusty cupboard smell. Here we have a solid winemaker, a heavy vintage, a unusual 1er Cru so there is elegance nowhere. With time, some richness and opulence. I´d wait for a long time before to try again.
  
  Color cereza con bordes marrones acuosos. Nariz tímida, olor a armario cerrado. Tenemos un sólido productor, una añada fuerte, un 1er Cru inusual, así que de elegancia nada. Con tiempo, alguna riqueza y opulencia. Esperaría un buen rato antes de intentarlo de nuevo.

  At first, piping, horrible smell. Totally reducted. With time, some violets or marzipan as secondary aromas reflecting its origins. Clearly needs time.
  
  De entrada cañerías, un olor horrible. Totalmente reducido. Con tiempo y como aromas secundarios violetas y mazapán reflejan su origen. Claramente necesita tiempo.

Lafon 1er Cru Santenots de Milieu 04

• 2004 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru Santenots-Du-Milieu - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
  Dark violet young colour. Super-reducted. Chocolatey, coffee, earthy ... but closed, really closed. Greener cause this vintage. With time, reflects how good it is. Opulent on the palate. Particularly round.
  
  Color joven a cereza oscura. Superreducido. Achocolatado, café, terroso,...pero cerrado, realmente cerrado. Más verde por la añada. Con tiempo refleja lo bueno que es. Particularmente redondo.
